According to a poster released in 1988 by the Guerrilla Girls, a feminist art collective, the advantages of being a woman artist include ‘Working without the pressure of success’ and ‘Seeing your ideas live on in the work of others’. The ironic tone of this artwork raises the many ways in which women have been – and continue to be – excluded from the art world.
