Last month Nottingham Contemporary started a new advocacy scheme as part of Circuit.
The scheme involves a self-led project consisting of 8 easy tasks, that the individual can elaborate on as much as they wish and document in a creative format. Young adults can request to start the scheme whenever they like and can take as long as they want to complete it. Once they have completed all of the eight tasks, they will receive a reference and will gain the title of Nottingham Contemporary Advocate. They will be invited to volunteer and represent the gallery at internal and external events and be invited to meetings about the Circuit programme.
This video is the first vlog for the project made by one of the potential advocates – she explains perfectly how it could be done, and we can’t wait to see more from her and the others!
