January Blues

In response to Tate Liverpool’s Yves Klein exhibition, Tate Collective Liverpool invited audiences to dampen away the January blues with a live, improvised set from south London-based musician Klein.

Yves Klein was notoriously famed for his own shade of ultramarine, International Klein Blue. To celebrate both the end of January and the power of Yves Klein’s pigment, Tate Collective paired the two together for a free night confronting the figure of speech ‘January blues’.

Artist Klein, who released her debut album last year to acclaim, gave a one-off performance partly inspired by the work of Yves Klein. Her music and performances have earnt an indefinable reputation, and this was the first event Klein has played in the north of England.
